Designing and printing luxury stationery so that you can make lasting connections with others.
Mission
Cards power connections.
Established in 2015, The Flywheel mission is about more than paper and ink.
The Flywheel, formerly Printology Press, gets its name from the notable wheel on the side of letterpress printers. Before electricity, the flywheel was powered by a tapping motion on the foot trestle at the printer’s base, much like a sewing machine. Soon the flywheel catches and holds the momentum initiated by the foot trestle. It’s Newton’s First Law of Motion at its finest and most symbolic.
In the same way that the letterpress printer continues to press relief prints after an initial effort is applied, I hope that The Flywheel stationery will be the initiating action that develops authentic relationships in your life.
Whether it comes in the form of a wedding invitation, a business card, or a personal stationery set, communication is the catalyst for connection.
When it feels like quality relationships are getting harder to come by, my late-19th century letterpress helps your message stand out in today’s digital age.
Curious about letterpress printing and design? Send me a message. I can’t wait to hear from you!
“Mackenzie has been amazing. She's super fun to work with, but also really good at what she does … I haven't been able to find letterpress invites anywhere close to what she offers, and the customization is incredible.”

Meet Kenzie, Owner + Creative Mind
Purveyor of fine design, good coffee, and authentic connections
After falling in love with letterpress printing during my junior year at High Point University, I enlisted my dad’s help and restored a dozen antique printing presses.
The restoration and sale of those printing presses funded the beginning of my life as an entrepreneur and letterpress stationery designer.
Today, I use my antique printing presses, The Green Machine and the One Who Remains Unnamed, to manually print wedding invitations, stationery, and business cards that make an impression.
If you look closely, you’ll notice that one of the invitations pictured features my wedding invitation. Yes, wedding invitations are some of my favorite items to design, and I love that I was able to design and print the cards that invited my friends and family to celebrate my marriage to Isaac in 2021.
Whether I’m with my amazing husband and baby girl, a client, or a few of my favorite people, you’ll likely find me visiting local coffee shops, breweries, and shops.
I refuse to let this be all about me. Please, shoot me an email. I’d love to connect with you and hear your stories!

LOCAL DESIGN, PRINT + PICKUP
When you choose The Flywheel, your experience is anything but impersonal. Instead of a complicated online design tool or a bank of generic designs, we come up with your one-of-a-kind design together!
When you work with a local letterpress designer, you don’t have to wait on shipping delays or lost deliveries.
With such an emphasis on relationships and connection, it’s no surprise that my favorite means of delivery is local pickup. Face-to-face pickup is simply one more opportunity to develop an authentic connection.
